Treatment of Hyperpigmentation
Regarding the fact that hyperpig- mentation are caused by an excess production of melanin, the effective treatment is to inhibit the tyrosinase activity to reduce or half the overproduction of melanin. The most common active ingredients in this field are Hydroquinone, Kojic acid and Arbutin that inhibit the tyrosinase activity relatively but not completely and show inadequate efficacy as expected.
